hough I have never met Frank Whalen in the flesh, he is a brother in the spirit. I first encountered him (rather, he encountered me), in 2001 when my book How to Quit Church Without Quitting God made the talk radio rounds. At that time, Frank hosted his own show at WAMX in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He read the book, thrilled to its spiritual implications, and called for an interview.
It would be the first of many Whalen/Zender scripturefests. (I can think of no better term to describe what these are.) Frank is a man after God's own heart. I doubt that he fits the mainstream notion of "a good Christian," but then neither do I. And neither did the apostles. And neither do many of you. Not even our Lord and Savior fit the accepted profile: He fellowshipped with "undesirables"; He drank wine; He picked corn on the Sabbath; He lambasted the day's most popular religion. And yet: His entire being throbbed for God.
Frank and I rarely plan ahead of time what we will discuss. Even when we do, the spirit inevitably takes over. As I re-listen to some of these shows, I am amazed at the volume of truth the spirit of God brings forth. You want a revival? Here are a dozen revivals every hour! It seems to me that these shows do everything but raise the dead.
My thanks to Joshua Warren of Taiwan, Republic of China, for bringing these broadcasts to you in this accessible format. Joshua has edited out all the commercials, so all you have here is pure Whalen & Zender, as well as some cool music, and more than a few interesting phone calls from listeners all over the world.
You can stream these sound files and listen online, or you can right-click on the files and download them for your mp3 players, iPods, whatever. Frank and I want you to steal them. You have our permission. Frank has given his blessing. Burn these files onto CDs and listen to them in your car to and from work. E-mail them to your friends. Listen as you walk or jog. This may be the fellowship you've been looking for. I certainly feel the spiritual camaraderie all over again whenever I click and relive the moment. I can certify through my e-mails that God has used these shows to bring many people to the truth.
May God bless your listening, and may the truth of God contained in these amazing broadcasts bring forth even more spiritual fruit in your life.
Love in Christ,
Martin Zender
